Outline

Luminelle’s Collective IDentity project seeks to explore how dancing and creating together might provide a chance for compassionate connection with others and a greater sense of self-care and understanding.

Here, in the dancers community, you can contribute your ideas, thoughts and artistic responses to the project as they unfold.

You will be able to connect with one another over topics shared and discussed during the project and beyond.

I and We Task

This week, we are setting you the task to write two poems from two perspectives.

Poem Task

Over the last few weeks we have gathered phrases, words and sentences related to objects, spaces, experiences in our homes and in the studio.

Laying Out Task

For this task, we would like you to explore the idea of laying out. Laying out of objects, or of yourself…

View Laying Out Task Outline

Object Task

This week, we began exploring ways of using language to describe and explore objects of meaning or significance to us…

Knot Task

This week, we were inspired by the contrasting images and concepts that arise when one thinks of a knot.

Light Task

Light has been a constant source of inspiration for our sessions this term.

Layering Task

At the start of this new season, as we are shifting into the cold months of winter, the layers of our warm clothing, the layers of the seasonal change from colours to temperature, all impact us.

Heart Task

At the end of this term, dancers explored the theme of opening and closing, and this led us to think about the heart – how we open our hearts to each other, and the simple pulsing of the heart as a rhythm through life.

Noticing Task

Many of our classes have centred around memories, stories and experiences over the last few weeks.

Kindness Task

Last week our conversations led to a beautiful sharing of personal gestures of kindness from friends, neighbours, and strangers.

Warmth Task

This week, we talked about our response to the concept of ‘Home’ and the notion of ‘Warmth’ came up in discussion.

Home Task

This week, in our classes and workshops, we have been exploring ‘Home’: how do we associate with our home; has it changed; where is home – is it a place, sense, feeling, person..?
