Home Task Response
Home is
A refuge or a prison
To yearn for, escape from To dream of, a nightmare.
A place you don’t want to be put in
An empty shell without your stuff in it
A place of locks and secrets
Fond memories and mortgages.
My South Asian wife stands outside the house in Salisbury we are hoping to buy. A car slows down and three men are banging on the side. One shouts ‘Go back home you fucking Paki’.
Home is a place women have been told is theirs
But not in a good way.
An Englishman’s home is rarely a castle
And a castle seldom a home.
Affordable housing isn’t always.
Home is
The place I’m known the best
The best place I know
Home is
Planet Earth.
