Knot Task Response

OK, we know the following is a workshop suggestion but it emerged from thinking about our experiences reflected in the thoughts below the line.

A ribbon in each hand and at least 2 metres away at the other ends other dancers. It’s an opportunity to be sensitive to the other dancers, to the push and pull and twists, to the potential to wrap and undo, to wave, to enmesh, to break the chain and lead and re-connect, to become entangled, to become one being…to drop the ribbons and pick up new ones and see where the new connections lead.

For Angie, the ribbon connection is comforting in that it means she can connect to others without seeing them.

‘What a tangled web we weave’

Ribbons/Ropes binding and tying down/around: ropes stretching out connecting; ropes as vertical Dancermesh walls protecting but also separating and caging. Through which we can be enfolded, excluded, lifted, celebrated, held down, ignored, resurrected.

Knotty, Pain, Floored, Curled, tied down to one spot, immobility, frustration, writhing, floored

Fighting the bindings, kicking out, tearing, ripping, emerging, stretching out, standing up, mobile, freedom…………….for a while only
