My object is a set of draws. Each draw contains memories of family or friends who have passed away. The draws contain largely photos and letters together with objects rescued from the ‘clearing out’ of their homes. In some cases I have been given or rescued; their drawings, paintings, sculptures or creative writing. I open these draws occasionally and am instantly reconnected to those who have been the biggest pulls on my heart strings. I find it comforting to know I will not misplace these people and that I can find them anytime I need them.

But, of course, these draws are nor replacement for the person lost to me. Inanimate objects can be powerful but for me, humans are the best kinetic objects and no other objects can replace them.
