Dancing with Parkinson’s dance artist shadowing and mentoring with Danielle Teale

Danielle Teale Dance is working in collaboration with the Dance for Parkinson’s Partnership UK to offer artists new to the field of dance with Parkinson’s an opportunity to expand their skills through shadowing of existing Dancing with Parkinson’s classes. Artists will also gain the opportunity to have one-to-one dance teacher mentoring from Danielle Teale.

Danielle was generous with her experience, time and wisdom, and throughout the process knew exactly when to support and when to give me space to stand on my own two feet.

She is obviously incredibly experienced in this area of work, but her mentor process is entirely focused on the development of the mentee. She has great humility in encouraging a personal practice that is authentic to the mentee. Rather than shaping my practice in any particular direction, she has effectively taught me ‘how to fish’ for myself as it were.

As a result of working with Danielle, I’ve developed my confidence as an artist, and have already started developing work in new areas of my practice.
