A glimpse into the making of Interior

‘Interior’ focuses on the idea of a shared, ‘invisible expanse of trust’. Focussing on the change in space, from a studio environment to dancers’ homes, the series crops in on details of hands, limbs, and the spaces created between, and considers the relationship of collective movement to the domestic interior space itself. Throughout each workshop, it was apparent that the idea of ‘home’ and personal connections to objects were strong themes, where ‘things’ took on new resonance – a lamp became a hook for an invisible string, beds and sofas dictated the dancing space. The series focuses on both the shared, intimate space between dancers, as well as the role of these personal, interior spaces and objects within the creation of collaborative movement.
