We are pleased to announce our Dance class programme that will be offered online and in-person throughout the autumn term.
Online:
This term Luminelle will continue to offer a weekly Dancing with Parkinson’s class online, to continue the relationship with all our dancers around the country, and to reflect the continued demand for online activity despite most lockdown restrictions being lifted.
Classes will be held on Monday afternoons, 2-3.30pm via zoom, including time for conversation before and after dancing. Anyone is welcome to register and you can do so by contacting us.

Wonderful session and great to feel your warmth through the ‘wires’

You have a theme but you can do your own thing, it’s challenging, it makes you think

In Poplar, on the CID dance project, there’s no need to apologise. It’s a peer group, our condition is background. With Parkinson’s pushed to one side, we can rise above the condition, counter the despair.

Maybe there is something liberating in putting ourselves forward to dance in this way, enabling us to ‘wash away from the soul the dust of everyday life’ (thanks to Picasso) and reach for the stars?

In-person:
With support from Poplar Union, and a new partnership with Ideas Stores London, Danielle Jones will be resident in-person for exploratory workshops and opportunities to share and connect with us again in person from 20 October through to 8 December.
Workshops at Poplar Union will take place on Wednesday afternoons, 20th October, 3, 10 17 November, 2-3.30pm. Refreshments will be provided and the workshops will offer a chance to reflect, share, move, and laugh together! After such a long period of isolation, we hope to welcome as many of you as possible to our in-person community. Please register or contact us for more information.
